Beyond What the Eye Can See
The human eye and every conventional camera is limited to the visible spectrum: roughly 400 to 700 nanometers. Outside that narrow band, an enormous amount of information about a material's chemical and physical identity goes completely undetected.
Hyperspectral imaging closes that gap. Instead of three broad color channels, it captures light across dozens of narrow, contiguous wavelength bands spanning ultraviolet, visible, near-infrared, and short-wave infrared building a complete spectral signature for every single pixel in the frame.

PHOSON 1HSP is Phosic's handheld hyperspectral imaging platform six engineered subsystems working in sync through a precision optical path to capture, filter, and process spectral data in real time in the field, without a lab.
Illumination
A custom multi-wavelength LED array from 280 nm UV to 1700 nm infrared sequentially lights the scene to excite the material-specific spectral responses forensic evidence is built from: biological fluids, inks, polymers, and latent fingerprints.
Optical Filters
A motorized 6-position filter wheel long-pass, linear polarizer, IR-cut, and IR-pass isolates the exact wavelength band needed for each exposure, electronically synced with the LED sequence for consistent optical registration.
Image Sensor
A high-sensitivity CMOS sensor spanning visible through near-infrared, selected for quantum efficiency, dynamic range, and low electronic noise the foundation every spectral measurement is built on.
Optical Lens
Purpose-selected for minimal chromatic aberration and distortion across the full working spectrum, with a 10 cm-to-infinity focus range built for evidence in the field, not a studio.
Processing Board
The embedded computer driving the whole device LEDs, filter wheel, sensor capture, image fusion, storage, and the on-device AI pipeline no external computer required in the field.
Device Casing
A modular, compartmentalized enclosure built for one-handed field use: isolated subsystems for easy servicing, active thermal management, and dust and moisture protection.

PHOSON 1HSP is designed, engineered, and built in India the optics, the illumination system, the processing board, and the AI pipeline that ties them together. It started as a tool for Indian forensic and law enforcement teams, but the architecture was never meant to stop at any one border.
The same spectral engine calibrated for a crime lab in India works identically for a food-safety inspector overseas, a defence unit on another continent, or an agricultural cooperative anywhere in the world one platform, engineered at home, built to serve the same critical sectors globally.

- Forensic and law enforcement teams, defence and industrial inspection groups, agricultural and food-safety organizations, and research institutions working with material or spectral analysis are all a strong fit.
- Yes. The hardware doesn't change the LED sequence, filter selection, and AI models are configured in software for your domain's specific spectral signatures. The same engine, calibrated differently per use case.
- The current PHOSON 1HSP platform spans roughly 365–945 nm across nine discrete LED wavelengths. Our R&D roadmap extends this toward a 280–1700 nm target range, covering deep UV through short-wave infrared.
- Yes, PHOSON 1HSP is designed for one-handed field operation, with imaging, processing, and storage all on-device. No external computer or lab equipment required.
- Every scan is logged with tamper-evident records, so results can be relied on for evidentiary or compliance use the same data integrity guarantee across every sector we serve.
- We're targeting commercialization by October 2026, following final assembly, testing, and certification. Beta partners get access ahead of that date.
- Not entirely lab systems still lead on raw spectral resolution. PHOSON 1HSP is built for the moment lab-grade analysis isn't practical: at the scene, in the field, in real time.
